In this classic menage a trois by master playwright Noël Coward, Gilda and Otto are living a bohemian lifestyle, with Gilda as a dilettante and Otto as a painter. Their lives take a turn when Leo, Otto's old friend and a successful playwright, visits, leading to an affair between him and Gilda. This leaves Otto disconsolate, prompting him to leave on a tramp steamer.

The play was edited for radio by Guy Vaesen and produced by Ian Cotterell. The cast includes Anna Massey as Gilda, John Rye as Otto, Martin Jarvis as Leo, and several others.
