Noel Coward Relative Values

(4.6 stars; 9 reviews)

Experience the charm of Noel Coward's Relative Values, adapted for radio and originally aired on BBC Radio 4 FM on May 8, 1976. This delightful production captures the essence of a West End winner, exploring the complexities of love and family dynamics.

When a peer of the realm decides to marry a Hollywood film star, his family's enthusiasm is lacking. The plot thickens as his mother's personal maid reveals an even stronger opposition to the wedding than his own relatives. With a talented cast including Joyce Redman and Bill Fraser, this adaptation brings Coward's wit and humor to life.

Thank you so much.

I'd like to thank you for sharing this wonderful production of a brilliantly written play, which is as fresh and clear as the day it was first broadcast. Interestingly, the producer cleverly avoided the usual cliched 'clipped' speech which so many actors use when performing anything by Coward, and the effect worked really well. The story line was both clever and amusing, and still has clear parallels with society today. It was a real treat to listen to.

Thank you!
