Michael Robson The Instruments Of Darkness

The Instruments of Darkness is a comedy thriller that aired on BBC Radio 4 FM on September 24, 1977. This play is the second of two featuring the eccentric Inspector Millions, who is tasked with solving two mysterious fatalities that have marred the excitement surrounding the opening of the Crystal Palace.
As the story unfolds, a scaffolder falls to his death in the Oriental Tea Room, and another man is found lifeless in a sycamore tree. A motley crew, including the inspector and his sidekick Dynasty Surecard, assembles to uncover the truth behind these bizarre events.
Directed by David Spenser, the play features a talented cast, including Nigel Stock as Inspector Millions and Anthony Hall as Dynasty Surecard. The dialogue is self-consciously baroque, filled with fanciful crimes and grotesque characters, making for an engaging listening experience.
