Adapted by Shaun McKenna, The Cry of the Owl is an intriguing psychological thriller based on the novel by Patricia Highsmith. The story follows Robert Forester, a recently divorced man who becomes obsessed with a woman named Jenny. As he lurks outside her home, a confrontation leads to the disappearance of her boyfriend, Greg, and Robert finds himself suspected of foul play.

As the plot unfolds, Jenny's feelings for Robert complicate matters, especially with her ex-fiancé Greg determined to win her back. The tension escalates when Greg goes missing, and Detective Lippenholtz struggles to believe Robert's account of events. The narrative takes a dark turn as tragedy strikes, leaving Robert broken and embroiled in a web of revenge and suspicion.

This adaptation captures the chilling essence of Highsmith's work, exploring themes of obsession and the psychology of the self-selected victim.
