British Sci-Fi Shows No 6: Orbiter X is an adventure in the conquest of space, originally a BBC Radio science fiction programme written by B. D. Chapman. The show was broadcast by the BBC Light Programme on Monday evenings in late 1959. Although presumed to have been wiped and lost, a set of discs of the entire series was discovered and restored, and since 2016, Orbiter X has occasionally been repeated on the BBC's archive station, BBC Radio 4 Extra.

The plot revolves around the fictional Commonwealth Space Project (CSP), based in Woomera, South Australia, which is working to build a space station orbiting a thousand miles above the Earth's surface. The CSP has launched various components for the space station into orbit, but before construction can begin, the first assembly ship, Orbiter 1, loses contact with CSP Control after being seemingly attacked. A second ship, Orbiter 2, piloted by Captain Bob Britton, is sent to rescue the first crew, only to find Orbiter 1 deserted and under mysterious circumstances.

As the story unfolds, Orbiter 2 is also attacked by a UFO, leading to a gripping encounter with Commander Gelbin, the deputy leader of the Unity organisation, who has plans for Orbiter X that could change the world.
