Classic Baseball Radio Broadcasts MLB
everything in here is 1973 and previous which falls into the public domain of mlb radio broadcasts as far as i know these are all one file per game, properly tagged, named, and cleaned up from multi files the best i could please do not sell these on eBay, people have wanted these for a long time and they have not been available in a cleaned up format and they are a piece of baseball and meant to be shared with all freely. put them on an ipod or old cell phone and give them to an older loved one in your life, or donate one to a nursing home.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

Incredible! (revision)

Added on another device, as I need to go into more detail here: Some games are missing small parts, and the narrator telling you where it starts up again after a pause appears to think half-innings are called "sides," which is slightly irritating but really not all that bad. These recordings are very high quality, and the only background noise you hear is background noise from the ballpark where it was actually broadcasted from. I can't believe somebody actually undertook this project, getting all of these recordings onto LibriVox, I am most grateful to whoever did it! Thank you so, so, SO much!

As a fan of old-timey baseball (aka baseball where people don’t strike out 200 times in a season), I really enjoyed this. I wish the World Series broadcasts had each game in the Series, as they don’t seem to (they will reliably have the best games and/or game seven, however). I can’t describe how fun it is to listen to the old greats, like Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Sandy Koufax… This is, simply, an outstanding collection of vintage games which I would recommend to all baseball fans who want a taste of the old times!

Great fun re-listening to Red Barber and Mel Allen broadcasts from my youth. Couldn't help noticing a couple of things. They seemed to possess, and expect from their audience, a greater vocabulary and knowledge of literary allusions than currently exists. And they mentioned several times a game to their audience, which included many children and teens, how much more enjoyable the game would be with a glass of their delicious, refreshing beer sponsor's product.
Thank you

Thank you so much for sharing this. Listening to these old broadcasts is something special — almost its own art form. You get less of the constant stats and commercials, and instead more of the crowd, the rhythm of the game, and announcers who truly knew how to paint a picture. It’s a joy to revisit.
#445 Dodgers vs Cubs, 1969
73A10D
The broadcast is incomplete and in 1969 the Dodgers had been in Los Angeles for 11 years. The game was played on Sunday July 27, not on July 29. Only because the team of Scully and Doggett was calling the game did this broadcast not earn the lowest rating.
Wonderful site, wonderful resource

Absolutely love downloading and listening to these games. Please note that Game # 279 labeled as being from August 17, 1968 is actually from 1960.

A Treasure Trove

For baseball fans of bygone era's, this is one of the best uploads you will ever find. So many classic games, famous names, teams that no longer exist and many of the best baseball announcers who ever called a play. All I can say is "enjoy". This is as good as it gets.
