Revised :   Additional recordings were added in September 2025   Blakes 7   :  The 1990s Presented here are the various productions by which the show was continued after the conclusion of the 1970s Television Series: focusing on various aspects of the televised episodes, rather than attempting to extend the show beyond Series 4. Beginning with a documentary which to some extent turns the show on its head, by showcasing one of its principal villains, rather than Blake or his crew. Blakes 7   -  Travis: The Final Act   Part 1   :  A Federation Man   Part 2   :  Outlaw A two-part documentary exploring the background, career and motivations of Space Commander Travis.  Narrated by Peter Miles , who played Secretary Rontane. Features interviews with actors Brian Croucher and Stephen Greif , and with script editor Chris Boucher and producer David Maloney . An analysis of the life, times and creation of the character who was the second deadliest enemy of the Liberator crew. Combines actual dialogue from the television series with new contributions from those who had a part in the character's creation, and from the two actors who played him. It opens with Secretary Rontane (Peter Miles) investigating the origins of Travis, following Supreme Commander Servalan's unorthodox decision to choose him to hunt down Blake. Rontane accesses a Federation computer, which gives him the facts he requires through a series of interviews with producer David Maloney, script editor Chris Boucher, and actors Steven Grief and Brian Croucher. The documentary traces the history of Travis, from both a factual and a fictional point of view. David Maloney discusses the ideas surrounding the casting of the actors, and the general production of the series; while Chris Boucher talks about what made Travis uniquely Travis, by looking at his motives and beliefs. Boucher emphasises that Travis's entire raison d'etre is that he is a soldier: he was trained to be a soldier, and this is all he knows, and consequently his only family is the military. Also significant is his relationship with Servalan. For, despite all the disagreements and conflict between them, Boucher explains Travis could never have killed the Supreme Commander: that he simply could not kill a superior officer, being the type of person he was. Steven Grief and Brian Croucher talk about playing the role. The latter makes the larger contribution, as more happens to Travis in Season Two than in Season One. Croucher seems to relish playing Travis, and recalls various anecdotes concerning his time on the show. During the second season, Travis's ruthlessness leads to his arrest, his trial, and his eventual alliance with the Andromedans. Boucher likens his dismissal from the service to losing one's family, and suggests that his betrayal of humanity is really a way of destroying himself .
