Vaniishing Point
Bill Lane
Vanishing Point is a Canadian radio drama series produced and aired by CBC Radio from 1984 to 1986. Created and produced by Bill Lane, it served as the CBC’s follow-up to the acclaimed series Nightfall, which revitalized the network's regional drama centers.
This anthology series primarily focused on science fiction but also explored a variety of genres, including thriller, horror, detective, psychological drama, comedy, and even the occasional musical. Many episodes were adaptations of short stories by renowned authors such as Ray Bradbury, Roald Dahl, and Evelyn Waugh, alongside original plays crafted by Canada’s top talent.
Bill Lane, who joined CBC Radio Drama in 1982, played a pivotal role in the development of Vanishing Point. He workshopped plays from winners of various Canadian literary competitions, aiming to nurture new playwrights while reaching a broader audience.

Mind-Blowing
OldRadioComedyPodcast
This is one of the best radio shows I've ever heard, period. Barely a notch above Nightfall - also a Canadian radio drama production - these are incredibly well-produced, -written, and acted. Once you start listening, you won't be able to stop. Just goes to show that long after the "Golden Age" of radio, there were still top-notch radio productions being created, and an eager audience to devour them.
