Empty Shell Suits Make No Noise is a captivating radio noir that follows a private detective with a flair for showbiz as he attempts to solve a murder case in a Spanish resort. The story features Detective Garda George Gibney, portrayed by Simon Delaney, who is called from Dublin to investigate a crime while also indulging in karaoke.
The plot thickens when an Irish body washes up on a Spanish beach, leading Detective Gibney into a world of crime, cocktails, and croí briste on the Costa. The production includes performances by Miriam Kelly as Maureen, Bryan Murray as Eduardo, Liam Carney as Paul Costello, and Don Wycherley as Fergus, among others.
Original music and songs for the play were composed by Ronan Carr and Eoin Coffey, with vocal recordings by Mark McGrath. The post-production and sound supervision were handled by Damian Chennells, and the drama was produced by Kevin Reynolds for RTÉ Radio Drama.
