Aus 30 - The General Motors Hour
The General Motors Hour was a series of one-hour radio plays aired on the Macquarie Network every Wednesday evening from January 30, 1952, to October 26, 1961. Most of these plays were specially recorded for the GM Hour and included announcements promoting Holden and its contributions to Australia.
This collection features the final play, 'The Letter', which was episode 463. The program played a pioneering role in Australian radio, showcasing the initial development and planning that began in 1951, along with GMH advertising and the choice of plays. The brochure for the General Motors Hour includes images from the show's tours and examples of the types of announcements broadcast.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
