For Eight Weeks during the summer of 1947 this half hour mystery series replaced The Abbott and Costello Show with a weird and wonderful sampling from the darker side of the masters’ minds. Stories written by Poe, deMaupassant, Dostoevsky, and Pushkin were brought to the air in terrifying reflections of reality. Tales of evil, of men twisted by sinister temptations satisfied, filled a summer’s evening with the chill of the deserted graveyard on a moonless night.
