Great Choice

Wonderful star studded cast radio theatre production of John Seinbecks seminal novel 'The Grapes of Wrath'. This was the major work in his oeuvre that lead to his award of the Nobel Prize for Literaure in 1963. it tells the story of the Joad family who travel from Oklahoma to 'the promised land' of California in an old jallopy in the aftermath of the environmental catastrophe known as the 'dust bowl' of the 1930's. The story has a strong political message about exploitation, corruption and the evils of capitalism. Keep in mind this is only a summarised version of the book adapted aa a radio play. I was hoping to find the entire book on Librivox but this is an excellent addition to the collection. i recommend you read the entire book as it rivals 'Moby Dick' as the great American Novel. it was thrust into my hand as a 13 year by my mother who said it was one of the most important works of the 20th C. it has helped form my political beliefs as a result.
very good
