Buddy Starcher - Sunway Vitamins Program
Buddy Starcher, born Oby Edgar Starcher on March 16, 1906, in West Virginia, was a talented musician known for his guitar skills. He made his radio debut in the Baltimore area in 1928, becoming one of the first hillbilly artists to do so. Throughout his career, he performed across various states, including Virginia, Kentucky, and even as far as Miami and Philadelphia.
Starcher recorded several hits, including the well-known bluegrass standard, "I'll Still Write Your Name In The Sand," which reached number 8 on the country charts. He also had a successful television show in Charleston in 1960, which garnered higher local ratings than NBC's Today. His song, "History Repeats Itself," became a notable hit in 1966, showcasing his clever storytelling.
In addition to his music career, Starcher managed radio stations and was known for revitalizing struggling stations. He was married to fellow artist Mary Ann Vasas, who took over from Patsy Montana on WLS Chicago in 1941.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

Not the biggest bluegrass fan in the world, but had to peek in on the newest upload, and this music has great audio & being a little familiar with the W. Va bluegrass people, I am certain there will be quite a few out there who will really appreciate this program. I just gave a few of the programs a quick listen so I was only able to hear some of the music. I wish the year these were broadcast was in the description, I couldn't tell just from listening to the music. Again it was very good quality audio, so it made it difficult to tell just when these were recorded.
