The Backstayge group try to catch a taxi in Rome. As close to un-listenable as a 40 year old tape can get. A small pile of oxide from the tape built up below the capstan as the tape was run.

By now, someone has probably elucidated you regarding the baking of tapes. If not, do some searching. It's easy, I use a $35 food dehydraytor from target. Temporarily re-adheres the oxide to the tape so you can get that digital copy made.
