Tor, A Street Boy of Jerusalem
Florence Morse Kingsley
Read by Patrick Saville
Tor is a young beggar living in the city of Jerusalem during the tumultuous time of the Roman occupation. Reviews
Interesting Listen

This book presents the last week of Christ's life through the eyes of a street boy whose life is transformed by him. Like in this author's other books, she goes to great lengths to create a realistic picture based on the gospels and other historical sources. In matters of creative interpretation one may differ--Peter is presented as not merely impetuous but even cruel, which felt like listening to a good friend be libeled! I tried to look past this as the content otherwise is quite good. The reader has a nice tone and pacing, and his reading would be improved by reviewing unfamiliar words ahead of time to give them the right pronounciation and inflection.
Good story

This story kept my attention. It helped fill in areas that the Bible writers leave out. It told the story from a peasants point of view. Showing that no matter who you are, Christ can touch your life and change your outlook.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this, although I didn’t like the author’s depiction of Peter. The narrator was terrific.
