"The Art of War is a Chinese military treatise written during the 6th century BC by Sun Tzu. Composed of 13 chapters, each of which is devoted to one aspect of warfare, it has long been praised as the definitive work on military strategies and tactics of its time. The Art of War is one of the oldest and most famous studies of strategy and has had a huge influence on both military planning and beyond. The Art of War has also been applied, with much success, to business and managerial strategies." (summary from Wikipedia) (1 hr 12 min)

Surprisingly accurate

Having had the experience of serving in a military combat unit I found many of the maxims accurate to my memories of what I experienced in action. The fundamentals of how to anticipate and prepare for outcomes, as well as adapt to change become second nature when adopting the mind of a combat soldier. But many of these also apply to how someone moves on from the military mindset into that of a team member, a worker, a boss and a visionary. Perhaps even a parent. I see now the appeal of this particular piece of work. I will revisit many of its sections in the future.

enjoyable

I liked that it was one person reading the entire book it made it easier to follow as I was used to her style of reading. I enjoyed the book also as it was only around 10mins for 2 chapters, very interesting information although I don't have much use for it !

Great book. Quick listen.

the contents are numerous, and succinct. you feel like you're in a lecture for war. some parts are more revelant to the day to day than others, but the overall way of thinking is a type of clever that can be applicable to all kinds of situations
