Victoria de Loredani lives the life of a fairy tale princess in Venice. She has everything one might desire and more, until the sinister Count Ardolph enters her world. The Count carries off Victoria's mother in an elopement, and sets off a series of dramatic events that begin to unhinge Victoria's life entirely. Passion, brutality, and murder begin to dominate the separated worlds of Victoria and her brother Leonardo. - Summary by Carolin (11 hr 46 min)

Reviews
Hmmm
KAB
The story's a bit melodramatic at the end but would otherwise have been good except for some truly horrible readers. Especially the one who did the last few chapters. If she'd started the book I never would have continued. Halting & jerking & mispronouncing: really unpleasant to listen to.
Pretty good novel, many rough readers

It's a melodramatic gothic novel in all its tawdry glory, but I do have to say, a few of the volunteers were tough to listen to. I have great respect for anyone who volunteers, but some are much better than others

Story starts strong with affairs and murder but then the ending wasn't my favourite. In regards to the narration- a number of the readers had particular trouble pronouncing "bosom" which was off putting. But otherwise, the quality was fine
