Jules is a young man, barely a century old. He's lived long enough to see the cure for death and the end of scarcity, to learn ten languages and compose three symphonies...and to realize his boyhood dream of taking up residence in Disney World.

Disney World! The greatest achievement of the long-ago twentieth century. Now in the keeping of a network of "ad-hocs" who keep the classic attractions running as they always have, enhanced with only the smallest high-tech touches.

Now, though, the "ad-hocs" are under attack. A new group has taken over the Hall of the Presidents, and is replacing its venerable audioanimatronics with new, immersive direct-to-brain interfaces that give guests the illusion of being Washington, Lincoln, and all the others. For Jules, this is an attack on the artistic purity of Disney World itself.

Worse: it appears this new group has had Jules killed. This upsets him. (It's only his fourth death and revival, after all.) Now it's war...

Wow! Just WOW!!!

So many layers of utterly raw emotion that's left me stranded via a seemingly one way trip into an (anti)trap of time. My brain is gyrating *right*(sidedly) on down the <<Grand Cosmic Rainbow's Spectrum of Ever Expanding Emotive Space-time>> in/where/when I was a child, enjoyably traversing every corner in the GCR / Disney World's existence(s). Then... Kaboom! & I'm finding my-self(?) in its future instances remembering with complete clarity ... my/the childhood time(s) I came from moments ago. Disconcerting yes, worth the FREE! pass to enter the GCR that *is* Disney World, fuck yeah! See? Still there, still there & I've really no idea if/when I'll be jettisoned on out & back into the/my linear life lie known as the for real for real reality by the sleepers who dream it just so those of us awake can be trapped in it. Now I'm thinking I'd live a life in the Rainbow's Happy Beams if I just stay here (or there from your own ingrained perspective). Just listen! It will last a lifetime!

As a lover of all things Disney I had to give this one a try. The details about the Magic Kingdom were fun to hear told in story form, though the literature itself was fairly absurd. Odd language with no explanation (such as "woofy") takes a while to catch on to but the futuristic sci-fi ideas of self restoration from computer back up & flash baking imprints on the brain were good food for thought. All in all, Id never have completed this book if reading it for myself, but not a terrible way to kill the weeks monotony of a 45 minute work commute.

By the time I was half way through listening to this novel I reallised I was never really going to come to grips with all aspects of the strange world in which it resides, so I gave up and instead concetrated on the main essence of the story and the ...

I loved this book. It was so creative. I hadn't read or heard of it before. I thought the premises alone were already extremely entertaining. But then the plot and character development were also very interesting and somewhat compelling. Not to mention that in an understated kind of way the ...

Amazing that Cory wrote this as long ago as '03 - it really projects trends at that time ahead very well. I just finished reading an article that stated that Khloe Kardashian can today be paid $8,235 for an endorsement Tweet and Lindsay Lohan can only charge $2,353. Talk about ...

Liked it the first time I read it, I liked it just as well this time. Tales of reputations that are the currency of the day being won and lost .
