GOLD MEDAL IN HORROR, ForeWord Reviews 2010 Book of the Year Awards

"Toothless is the best zombie novel I've read all year ... an intelligent kind of horror story that I seldom encounter, and like Frankenstein, I weep for the monster, not the humans. 5 stars - It kept me up all night!" Dirty Sexy Books

"I’d recommend this book to zombie lovers and haters alike, as Toothless can only redeem the latter." Nooblings Nest

"This gritty supernatural historical has plenty of bite. Compelling and well told ... an unusual mapping of familiar fantasy territory. Toothless himself is an introspective, complex protagonist, and his quest to recover what he can of his past is by turns moving, intriguing, and highly entertaining." -- Publishers Weekly

"Powerfully written, TOOTHLESS plunges the reader into the heart of a gripping, sometimes brutal, wonderful tale of what it truly means to be alive. Not to be missed!" -- Ed Greenwood, creator of the Forgotten Realms(r) fantasy world and bestselling author of ELMINSTER MUST DIE!

"TOOTHLESS is compelling, intriguing and above all, utterly original. At last, something new!" -- Peadar O Guilin, author of THE INFERIOR

Toothless

Wonderful! I love historic books, and even though the dead are described as zombies, I don't see them that way. Martin, even though dead, is a great hero, he is perfect in his role as the hero, especially since he does not know how important he is. I love this story and hope to be able to listen to more of your excellent imagination. Thank you for letting me listen to your great work here on librivox.

An undead novel that gives me life

This novel was so good! Couldn't put it down. I usually listen to books to help me sleep but this one was great beginning to end, sometimes I would play back a whole chapter because it was too good. Think about the hero being killed only to come back to kick some butt. Highly recommend this to any fan of good fiction!

couldn't get through it

(0.5 stars)

I couldn't get through this book. It's all description and absolutely no progression and little action. It had such promise in that the character of Toothless started out as unique but Lil is so repetitive! I never had any idea what the whole point of the journey was, and since it goes from one catastrophe to another I really didn't care. It felt like the author wanted it to be an epic but even in an epic you need growth, change, highs and lows, and most of all a point to the story. I am seriously irritated in myself for wasting so much time waiting for something to happen other than description/attack/description.

Finished listening to this book about a month ago, first audio book for me. Forgive me if my memory is a little hazy. I really liked the imagery in the first book, I got right into your world and wanted more. The second book felt a little less in depth ...

It is One of the best most enjoyable character I have ever followed. The story is rich with detail and filled with mystery and intrigue. This brought a whole new setting for zombies. I looked over this book a few times this year looking something better...... There isn't (for me). ...

I must say, on starting this book, your vivid (grotesque) detail of the fallen was a bit of a stumbling block. I really thought about stopping the book. But then I persevered to the end and...WHAT A BOOK. Even though someone commented on the poor audio, I liked it. Each ...

Wow, I actually had to have my mp3 player taken away from me so I would stop listening. This story was great, the imagery painted, the back stories, and the continuity throughout. And yes there will be more from this author. (Can't wait)
