Life with the Lyons 22 Eps
"Life With The Lyons" was a British radio and television domestic sitcom that debuted in 1950. Uniquely, it featured real-life American family members, Ben Lyon and his wife, Bebe Daniels, who had settled in London during World War II. The series continued the legacy of the radio show "Hi, Gang!" and included their children, Richard and Barbara Lyon.
The program was completely scripted and expanded on real-life events, though it was not reality television. The cast included Molly Weir as the Scottish housekeeper Aggie MacDonald, Doris Rogers as the nosy neighbor Florrie Wainwright, and Horace Percival as Mr. Wimple. The show later transitioned to BBC TV and ITV, and it inspired two movies.
Interestingly, John Lennon and Yoko Ono paid tribute to the series by naming their second album, "Unfinished Music No.2: Life with the Lions." This album cover featured John Lennon alongside various British officers of the law.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
