Aus 57 - Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde
Robert Louis Stevenson
Gelesen von George Edwards
Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde is a 15-minute radio serial that ran for 52 episodes from September 9, 1943, to February 16, 1944. This adaptation features George Edwards, a pioneer of the radio serial in Australia, who was known for his work as an actor and producer.
The story, originally titled Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, follows London lawyer Gabriel John Utterson as he investigates the strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr. Henry Jekyll, and the sinister Mr. Edward Hyde. This classic tale explores the duality of human nature, illustrating the conflict between good and evil within a single individual.
Stevenson's novella has had a lasting impact on literature and culture, giving rise to the term 'Jekyll and Hyde' to describe a person with vastly different moral characters. Its success has led to numerous adaptations in film and theater, making it one of Stevenson's most celebrated works.

I don't know if it's just my computer or not, but I've been trying to play several episodes and it seems they just won't play. Many of the later ones are available, but most of the early ones aren't. I can't even download them. Overall though, so glad I found this! It's so much fun to go back and get to see old adaptations. It's been a lot of fun to listen to. Thank you to whoever archived these, I've had a wonderful day of listening.

Although the radio series is interesting and entertaining it bears little resemblance to the book written by Stevenson.
