best book

excellent book well read

A good boys adventure, with typical paternalistic and xenophobic language of its era. Well read.

A good adventure romp

The story is a straightforward tale, it’s easy listening. Some listeners may find the language and descriptions of the non-white characters unpalatable, but I guess it’s an authentic voice of how it would have been back then. The reader seems to get as excited as the characters as he sometimes runs out of breath! It’s a fun story, war is a big adventure for brave boys and all that. Simpler times. Nostalgic

Good World war II story.

In the very beginning they did a good job of flushing out the characters. You got to know each one and their flaws. The storyline continued linear and was quite compelling. there were a few holes in progression but there were nothing to be concerned about. All in all it wrapped up pretty good and I feel that I was not cheated.

This is a wonderful book for teenagers and young adults and even this 77 year-old grandfather!! The reader, David Wales, always holds the listener’s attention and would probably earn a Five Star rating reading a Chicago telephone book!! Bravo Mr. Wales. 👏🏼👏🏼 (22 June 2022)
