A tale from a different era

(4,5 Sterne)

It has to be said that the setting of Throckmorton is difficult for a modern audience. The use of the “n-word” and depiction of Black servitude in the post-Civil War South may be triggering for some listeners. I felt that the story itself drags on a bit in the middle and ended abruptly when I thought it was most interesting, but overall I enjoyed the plot and the character development. There were several readers who each read well.
