A good book

A little more drama than I normally like but an engaging story none the less. I anticipated certain twists to the story line but was pleasantly deceived when twists did not turn as I thought they would. However the author, in the last chapter, gave a clue to the finale that could have been omitted. Still, it was an interesting book. I also liked that there were only 4 main characters. Much easily to follow the story. I enjoy this reader's works and seek him out. It will be sad when I have made it through all his books.

One of the best readers on this site; amazingly talented. I think the reviewer below needs to get their ears checked...
Quite Something

This is truly a delightful presentation. The reader obviously knows his craft. The reading is rich in texture, mood and character through and through. At once the listener is impelled from the act of hearing the story, to seeing it vividly blossom. A hearty "well-done," and the highest of recommendations. Vamelo
a "ripping yarn "

a true melodrama that keeps up a good pace. Was disappointed in the ending - leaves some strands unexplained but then, it is a mystery. Excellently narrated. Good to hear the different languages pronounced properly
Good gothic tale, excellent reading.

The narrative let me down a little toward the end only in that it I thought it would be more interesting had it not stayed within the genre so much. But I still liked it and much credit to the reader who was excellent.
The Magician by W Somerset Maughm
Janis Pennell
Excellent melodramatic story narrated brilliantly by Delmar H Dolbier. Wonderfully descriptive writing by Maughm, at times quite horrific and terrifying. Definitely be looking to read and listen to more by Maughm.
Fascinating
Paul Busman
Not at all what I expected, but I really enjoyed this. The reader is exceptional.
