Robert Louis Stevenson
Robert Louis Stevenson was a Scottish novelist and poet best known for his children's adventure stories. Born in Edinburgh he travelled extensively during his lifetime before settling on the island of Samoa where he died.
Underwoods was Stevenson's second book of poetry published in 1887. It contains 38 English language poems (Book 1) which are recorded here and also 16 Scottish dialect poems (Book 2) which are not included in this recording. - Summary by Alan Mapstone
