Edgar Wallace
Dick Martin is on his last day on the job at Scotland Yard, having planned to retire early due to an inheritance windfall, when he becomes entangled in a strange and convoluted mystery involving a missing heir, a stolen library book, vivisection, a series of murders and a mysterious tomb with a complicated and unique set of locks, the keys of which have been scattered to the winds. But as the pieces start to come together, what seems at first a series of odd and random coincidences begin to add up to a sinister plot to seize a fortune! (Summary by Ben Tucker) (5 hr 35 min)

While I didn't care for the horror elements of the novel, they are not dwelled on so much as to make listening impossible, and the mystery/adventure aspect is more important. The reader has a great, even tone that is a pleasure to listen to.

This is a creepy, tragic tale with a sweet love story attached. I figured out the solution early on, but that didn’t ruin the telling. Well read !

I'm not familiar with the author, but enjoyed the story very much. The reader did an excellent job as well.
