Thank you Sharon Kilmer!
Your work is very much appreciated! I've listened to libravox for 10 years now, and you are one of the best!
Not Worth the Time
Frank Bowden
Nicely read but a rather poor novel. We hear the same statements over and over again. Also too many childish "are too, am not" sorts of arguments. The protagonist is honest to a fault and rather trying. The basic story was somewhat interesting but the execution was terrible. This was the first Hume I've read - I'm going to read Murder in a Hansom Cab next. If that isn't any better that will be the last Fergus Hume story for me.
a good mystery

Entertaining story. Reader does an okay job, but mispronounces lots of words. The most egregious of her mispronunciations is “statue” of limitations. I cringed every time she said it.

A very clever plot and fairly well read. As one reviewer noted, there is some repetitious action and the arguments could have been a bit more mature. The ending was satisfying, but Hume missed one great opportunity: he could have arranged for Mallien to marry Rupert's housekeeper! Ha!
Good one!
