When a semi-sentient starship's crew dies, it must find a new one in a hurry. Earth is the closest planet with sentient life and the ship, which is rapidly losing its intelligence, picks five humans as the new crew.
Unfortunately, the five humans come from the Appalachian Mountains and while they are sentient, there's no guarantee that they're intelligent. What affect will these humans have on an unsuspecting galaxy?

irreverent if taken in the correct light

Well, well, well! Tongue in cheek humorous space opera. Faint homages to Star Wars & other sci-fi , pun fun like Robert Aspirins books... if you want a lite non-serious bounding thru the universe with unsuspecting hero’s this is the tale of tails!
Smiling in Borneo

This book illustrates the breadth of the sci-fi genre and I am truly left smiling. I see the comparison with Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy. Take an unsophisticated group of people and watch the culture clash of various space travel situations unfold. Not so ridiculous....it happens all the time with tourists visiting foreign lands...this time it's in space. What makes this book is the serious narration that interweaves the 'goings on'. I also appreciated the readers voice and various accents. Look forward to more work from this author....yee ha!!
unexpectedly very good sorry

I don't know what to expect from title like Galaxy Billies presently surprised that turn out be awsome story. it reminds me a lot of Firefly but I also like to bit that's very similar to Star Wars. I recommend five stars for this audiobook. Downside was that the voice of the ship wasn't that clear
what a pleasure.

everyone else summed it up. what i found impressive is the masterful use of tone/pitch/speed bending for the characters. some were a bit over the top which fit perfectly with the campy feel and ridiculous yet genre adhering story line. absolutely great on many levels. hope to hear more from the autthor.
Had to give up on this one

an interesting plott but the voice of the ship was not clear but muffled and so I could not follow the story easily. By chapter 4 it became irritating to have to guess what had been said so I gave up.
