Sir Arthur Thomas Quiller-Couch
Mysterious old Captain Coffin not only has a wild story about a Honduran island where treasure lies, he has a map. But they must be wary because it also holds “a poison that kills a man and keeps him fresh as paint”. Nothing can hold Harry back from tagging along and meeting up with murder, intrigue, a collection of colorful characters, and a vociferous parrot. - Summary by Amy Gramour (9 hr 10 min)

Terrible ending.

The book started off all right, and was fairly entertaining throughout the whole book. The ending however, was as if the writer died in the middle of writing it and they said "screw it we will publish what we have anyways."

A great story until the abrupt & very dissatisfying ending.
Good story, mediocre ending

No spoilers, I promise! Worth the time but....sudden stop. I felt that the story had great character development and a few great twists. The ending was all climax, but it hung there. When the reader said, "End of Poison Island" it took me aback. 1 or 2 more chapters seemed to be in order to "wrap it all up" so to speak. All the drama of the last several chapters was excellent, and there was an ending, no cliffhanger, but I guess I like my presents tied up in a bow, so to speak.

Yep, even though I was warned about the ending, it still came as a shock. Either way, I really enjoyed the book. It was lengthy and intelligently written. I'm going to have to listen to the last chapter again to make sure I caught all the details. All the readers did a good job.
A delightful surprise!

I think this would've made an awesome TV movie. Told first person from the point of view of a young boy it has wonderfully rich characters and many complex and delightful storylines. narration is certainly pretty good
good book

The story has a lot of twist and turn that make it very fun to read. But the ending is lacking just a little

Apparently English is not the 1st language of the reader. Couldn't get past the 2nd chapter
