Did you know that a blessed person is not merely the one who is thriving with good health, great wealth or material prosperity. From a Biblical point of view, a blessed person is first and foremost a man or woman who is in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and who no longer submits to the world but now submits to the word. In the continuation of the treasures of God's truth that we will be learning in this message about this concept of the blessed man, Dr. Dominic Aquila will show us, using the different word pictures that are given in Psalm 1, that a truly blessed man in a biblical sense is a new person in a new place. A blessed person is compared to a tree that was originally planted in the barren desert but which has now been transplanted into an oasis. This picture of the blessed person is not a picture that is only applicable to the so called "Super Christians". Instead, it is a picture of each and every true believer. You too are a blessed person if you are in Christ Jesus and this picture is speaking of you in the present tense. As we are told in 2 Peter 1:3, every true believer has been given everything that is necessary for life and godliness and we should therefore live out that blessed reality and enjoy fully all that God has given to you.
