Crazy Big Fish by Gill Adams
SANWAL
Crazy Big Fish An uplifting six-part series by Gill Adams about being extraordinary and ordinary all at once. The adventures of five everyday Hull women as they struggle with learning lines, grumpy parents, stiletto heels and a poorly pet. Featuring Rita, Pauline, Gladys, Babs and Sandy - and not forgetting Diana the dog. 1: Fish Is back in Hull 2: A Dog's Life Rita refuses to audition for Crazy Big Fish, but Sandy and Babs win her over with a little help from Gladys. Then Pauline puts her foot down - her beloved dog Diana has an upset tummy and she can't possibly leave her at home. Will the women make it to the audition, let alone get the parts? 3: Sisters Are Doing for Themselves Rita finally overcomes her fears and owns up to not being able to read, so Pauline rallies round to help her learn her part. Diana is now very poorly, and Sandy finds herself reluctantly accompanying a worried Pauline to the vets. Meanwhile, Gladys helps Rita fool Billy into letting her out forthe audition. 4: We Will Survive Babs has had enough - she leaves her demanding dad and goes to stay at Pauline's; Rita and Pauline take part in an unintentionally hilarious radio interview to promote the play; Diana falls into a puddle; and, to top it all, Crazy Big Fish find themselves booked into Hull's roughest pub for their debut performance. 5: We Are Family Pauline's house is now full to overflowing- Sandy, Rita and Gladys have joined Babs in the spare bedroom. As the day of the premiere approaches, the women begin to have serious doubts about their ability to carry off the play. And then Bab's dad turns up, banging on the door at midnight. 6: Crazy for Trying? It is the day of the first performance and only six tickets have been sold. The women take to the streets of Hull to boost their audience. Pauline acts as fairy godmother, persuading everyone's families to attend the first night. Then her admiring traffic warden friend turns up to make it a perfect night.
