Sarah Daniels and Annie Caulfield
Westway was a radio soap opera broadcast twice a week on the BBC World Service from November 1997 to October 2005. It focused on life in and around the fictional Westway Health Centre in West London, named after the main road route into London from the west.
This collection features episodes recorded in 1998, including a Christmas pantomime and New Year's episodes. The Christmas episodes present a visit to the pantomime filled with danger, while the New Year's episodes explore the aftermath of the Christmas story.
At its peak, Westway had worldwide listening figures estimated at around 1.7 million. The show was created and edited by David Hitchinson, with principal actors including Jillie Meers, Nigel Carrington, and Abi Eniola.
