These boots were made for walking

It is said that the average person will walk 115,000 miles in the course of their life time. The human foot is an amazing creation of bones and joints. Hikers and outdoorsmen have long known that if you treat your feat well, they will take you where you want to go. If you do not, you will not go anywhere. In our scripture text, God tells Joshua that everyplace he would walk, would be given unto him. Joshuaâs feet would determine his destiny. It is one thing to talk about the goodness of God; it is another thing to walk into the goodness of God! No matter how great the promises of God are, if we do not step out and take hold of them, they are simply words that will fall empty. It is time for us to quit talking about the promises God has made, and time to walk into them. The question is not if God wants to bless us. God does want to bless us. The question is IF we will step out and take hold of what He is offering. Every time we come to church, every time we come to the alter, every time we obey Gods will; we are stepping up to take hold of Godâs promise. There are far too many people walking out, when they need to be walking in. The promises of God are IN not OUT. The children of Israel were promised an enormous amount of land from Egypt to the Euphrates River and down to the Mediterranean Sea. But they have never possessed it. They didnât because they quit walking. They didnâtâ because some one got lazy, someone got comfortable where they were. God promised so much more, but they didnât posses it because they quit trying.
