The Call of the Wild
Jack London
Read by LibriVox Volunteers

In this novel (often mistakenly classified a children’s book) the main protagonist Buck, a St. Bernard/Collie mix, is abducted and sold to a trainer of sled dogs in Alaska. He adapts to the brutal conditions and is finally acquired by a loving man. When this new owner is killed, Buck follows the ‘call of the wild’ and joins a pack of wolves. great! but -1 for final reader

Listen
an interesting story, read at a good pace until chapter 7. it was torturous getting through the final reader's rendition. i don't mind that it oddly strayed from the american accents of the prior chapters, but it was slow and words were overly emphasized. it totally killed the excitement and intrigue built up from chapter 1 through 6.
Thank you for a beautiful story

This is the first book I have tried on librevox. I really liked it a lot. The book itself is beautifully written. With eloquent sentences. The story is captivating and thrilling. The book is considered a childrens book, but I don't necessarily find that to be true. Though children are maybe more interested in a book about a dog than adults, I think the way this book is written might make it very interesting for adults too. I really loved the first two readers. The last one (chapter 7) has an heavy accent, but it still was nice to listen to her reading. They kept me company during a long drive and I thank the four readers for their efforts!
Goodð

please read
Iâve been reading this story in class and for the final chapter I chose to use this app. I love the app and how you can get many free audio books and how easy it is to get to the books you want. And Call of the wild is an amazing story I definitely recommend it! The reason I gave 4 1/2 stars is because the person who read the last chapter was kind of hard to understand. Thanks! P.S. . Read Call Of The Wild itâs really Good!!!ð
awesome book

Love the book, and the first and last readers. The accent was funny. It is sad though, that the last reader had to change her natural voice, for a different one. Unless that is her natural voice. If it is, I apologize for my previous statements. Anyway, the book was and still is, one of the best i have ever read. ✌peace out y'all.
Great Book!

I have read The Call of the Wild once. After twenty years I still like this book very much. And Jack London is still one of my favourite authors. The reading was great and I am really thankful for everyone who is taking time to make these books available, but the last chapter was not really my favourite pace!
an excellent look back in time

this book has in some ways captured the mindset of nature which was present back in those days I very much appreciate the chance to consider what previous generations have lauded and thought to be worthy of accomplishment. the views displayed about the essence of nature in the way of things are particularly of note
Great book but last reader...

girl
This book was really interesting but I had to read the last chapter myself because Miette sounded very frustrating. Don’t get me wrong I love readingbut for books like this one to a ten years old girl I don’t really understand it without someone else reading it to me.
