The Chase
Various
The Chase is an exciting Old Time Radio series in which every episode contains, well, a chase. It may be an adventure story, a crime story, or even science fiction, but there will always be a chase.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

some files faulty above, maybe almost all

Of the first five files above, only one has the ending complete, including the conclusion of what are generally suspenseful/mystery stories! (I was able to find a complete version of ep 01 on another site, but no more so far.) This is a disappointment, since these are very good stories written by Lawrence Klee, also known for his similar work in THE CLOCK. 5-star series for its high quality writing, but you'll probably need to get a set of these elsewhere. Nuts. UPDATE 20080329: These files came up as full-length on Windows Media Player but not RealPlayer. Windows reads their duration as full-length. I will test to see if they burn to cd and play as full-length on a player.
Suspenseful, well-written; absolutely recommended!

Thanks for these, OaOTR! THE CHASE really deserves to be more widely known. I've listened to half of these episodes so I don't miss any of them (a first for me; I usually skip around a series, picking them by their name, like eating all the best candy in the box first. Fans of THE WHISTLER should definitely check these out. The subject matter is heavy on the malice domestic, that is, keeping crime (mainly murder) in the family. So should any of you who are thinking about telling your niece or nephew that you are leaving them your fortune. And occasional adventure yarns à la ESCAPE.
Files seem OK to me

I'm the original uploader of these files. They are encoded at an unusual 18Kbps rate. I just downloaded a couple of these files to see if there was a problem with them. I had no difficulty playing them. The files I downloaded play on my Windows XP system with the Windows Media Player. They also play on my portable mp3 player (an older Iriver IFP-799).

There are at least two other web sites where you can find the complete episodes. Every one of these shows are missing several minutes of the show
