Father Knows Best 111 Eps

(4.8 stars; 91 reviews)

"Father Knows Best," with Robert Young as father, is an Old Time Radio Situation Comedy, broadcast during the early to mid 1950s. Depicting the 'typical American' household, the radio show had a strong following and it went on very successfully to television, becoming as popular as a 1950s and 1960s B/W TV sitcom, as was its radio counterpart!

Primarily sponsored by Maxwell House Coffee, the show features the tagline, "Your father thinks it's the best (coffee), and ....Father Knows Best!!" Enjoy!

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

Robert Young Did Well As "Father Knows Best"

(5 stars)

This episode had good audio clarity which made it an extra pleasure to listen to this fine program. I was an original listener when the radio series started - 1949 - and later, after we obtained a television set in April 1957, continued make it part of our life.

amazing!

loved this show. I just love Bud, he always has me rolling in laughter. I only wish there were more. I definitely recommend listening to father knows best .

One of the "Best"

(5 stars)

This is a great comedy show for the whole family, we've listened to all episodes and have no negatives. Very good script writing and excellent cast.

this is so fun! I would recomend this to anyone! Thank you so much to whoever put this out here!

My favorite running gag

(5 stars)

I laugh every time the script calls for Bud to come downstairs and the sound guys make the most ridiculous racket possible, so over the top, ending with a big thud-crash. It never gets old.

Very good

I've listened to this series twice. Every aspect is of high quality. Two of the writers (Paul West and Roswell Rogers) also wrote for the TV series. Don't bother with "FKB 1950s (02 Episodes)"; it's redundant.

I think it's pretty awesome how descriptive this radio show is. From the beginning, you can already imagine what this 1950's household looks like.
