Famous for introducing the character of the vampire Count Dracula, the novel tells the story of Dracula's attempt to move from Transylvania to England so he may find new blood and spread the undead curse, and the battle between Dracula and a small group of men and women led by Professor Abraham Van Helsing.

Very good

(4,5 Sterne)

Excellent story. Great reading. A little odd to hear a female voice narrating mostly men's journals, but I got used to it. Thank you Kara for your time to do this.

read excellently

Reader is quiet excellent! Love this book and thoroughly enjoyed hearing Sarah read it.

Good reader good book but....

The reader was so great but she kept swallowing loudly and incessantly throughout the book. Right into the mic. It sounds like a silly thing to complain about but she was literally in my ear and it drove me nuts. Without that I would have given her 5 stars. The book was great. I've been resistant to reading it, probably because it is so widely known and (poorly) adapted. I'm also not a huge fan of epistolary novels, or novels made up of journal entries that have been stitched together. However, it really works here, and each character brings something interesting to the story.

16 hours have never gone by so quickly

Loved the story and the reader. So sad to get to the end. I already miss the characters.

Well read

Excellently read and an enjoyable book. The only hindrance I may suggest that this book is written as journal entries, letters and memos in its entirety by different characters, so if the print option is available it may be easier to follow as a casual listen/reader, but the narrator does a great job nonetheless

great reading, classic tale

Well read and exciting

You could tell the voice actor really enjoyed her work, which made the story more enjoyable. There were a few background sounds, but overall very good.

Kara Shallenberg does an excellent reading of this novel. Thank you Ms. Shallenberg for all the time you put into this. For the most part I enjoyed the story very much although there were times I wanted the author to just get on with it! There were also some unanswered questions such as : how did Harker escape from the castle, who drugged the maid's drinks the night Lucy died, and how did Lucy survive all those transfusions of different blood types? I also felt that Renfield was not really necessary to the story. Still, the novel was a very pleasant listening experience. Thank you Libavox for making these classic novels available to all.
