(4.5 stars; 23 reviews)

Last Seen Wearing is a gripping dramatization of Colin Dexter's Inspector Morse story. Inspector Morse is reluctantly drawn into an old missing persons case from a deceased colleague, but as he delves deeper, he finds that murder is his specialty and the case quickly becomes complicated.

Valerie Taylor has been missing for over two years, and Morse is convinced she is dead. However, a mysterious letter claiming she is fine complicates matters. Each time Morse thinks he is close to solving the puzzle, new obstacles arise, making Valerie's fate all the more elusive. As the tension builds, Morse's preference for a straightforward case leads him to a shocking discovery.

An excellent Morse

(4 stars)

John Thaw was great on television where the atmosphere was bucolic. But this Morse for radio is edgier and more realistic. Where Thaw was bluff and rude, John Shrapnel is sharper - but still very abrasive. Robert Glenister as Sergeant Lewis is an excellent foil to Morse.

Brilliant

Great listening and this Morse is far better than John Thaw from TV whose character was always dark and surly. So I gave up watching the TV Morse. Relax put your feet up and enjoy this one.
