The Postman Always Rings Twice is a gripping drama that tells the story of Frank Chambers, a drifter who stops at a rural diner for a meal and ends up working there. The diner is run by the beautiful Cora Smith and her much older husband, Nick.

This adaptation aired on the Lady Esther Screen Guild Theatre on June 16, 1947, and features a talented cast including Cecil Kellaway, Hume Cronyn, Leon Ames, and Audrey Totter. Based on the 1934 novel by James M. Cain, this version is notable for being the first filmed under the novel's original title and the first in English.
