A documentary about the Anglo-American novelist and screenwriter Raymond Chandler, who died in 1959. Chandler had a huge influence on the style of the modern detective story. His protagonist, Philip Marlowe, is considered synonymous with the 'private detective' and was played on screen by Humphrey Bogart.

This Irish radio documentary was first broadcast on 4th March 1991, produced by RTÉ Radio 1, Ireland.
