Hercule Poirot (US)

(4.5 stars; 257 reviews)

Hercule Poirot is a fictional Belgian detective, created by Agatha Christie. Along with Miss Marple, Poirot is one of Christie's most famous and long-lived characters, appearing in 33 novels, one play, and more than 50 short stories published between 1920 and 1975 and set in the same era.

This 1945 radio series of at least 13 original half-hour episodes (none of which apparently adapt any Christie stories) transferred Poirot from London to New York and starred character actor Harold Huber (Summary from Wikipedia)

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

I'm a real fan of early detective radio serials. Even though I have only heard these episodes on this page I rank this series at number three on my personal list. Sherlock Holmes (1) and Philip Marlowe (2). I hope you enjoy these few episodes as much as I did. I wish there were more to listen to.

i'm a long time Agatha Christie fan. I discovered her books and short stories in the early 1980's. This small, but impressive, radio library is a fun listen with the audio quality being an authentic reminder of radio in its heyday. YouTube has an impressive collection of Poirot radio dramas. Search for Poirot Radio Dramas YouTube .

Hercule Poirot is one of my favorite characters from my teens and into adult life. I had never listened to ORT and enjoyed the plots. The interview with AC was an unexpected pleasure. This series shares so repeats of the other OTR series but well worth the listen. Thank you for the experience

The stories were great to listen to. Reminded me of Sunday nights gathered around the radio listening to the fabulous tales of The Lone Ranger, Gangbusters, Boston Blackie, etc. Brings back great memories.
