Titus Livius
Titus Livius, commonly known as Livy, was a Roman historian born in 59 BCE in Patavium, now modern-day Padua, Italy. He spent most of his life in the heart of the Roman Empire and dedicated himself to writing a monumental history of Rome, titled "Ab Urbe Condita," which translates to "From the Founding of the City." His work spans from the legendary origins of Rome through the early days of the Roman Republic and into the time of Augustus. Livy's narrative style is both engaging and rich, reflecting his deep admiration for Roman values and the complexities of its history.
