Miles Franklin

Miles Franklin, born Stella Maria Sarah Miles Franklin in 1879, was an Australian novelist and feminist who left a lasting mark on Australian literature. Growing up in a rural setting, her experiences in the Australian bush greatly influenced her writing. She is best known for her iconic novel "My Brilliant Career," published in 1901, which captures the struggles and aspirations of a young woman in a male-dominated society. Franklin's work often reflects her deep love for the Australian landscape and her commitment to social justice, particularly in relation to women's rights and independence.
